About the Contest

The WMSE Rockabilly Chili Contest is the original culinary fundraising event for listener supported radio, WMSE 91.7FM. The community got the chance to vote for their favorite chili recipes from more than forty area restaurants, cafes, and taverns. Cash bars served beer and soft drinks courtesy of event sponsor, the Milwaukee Ale House.

And because it's WMSE, of course there was plenty of music! Jonny Z of the Chickenshack and Dietrich of Saturday Morning Car Tunes presented the best rockabilly, bluegrass, country, and hot rod sounds throughout the event.

Admission was $5, and each chili sample was $1, with all proceeds benefiting WMSE. The event is open to the public, so bring the whole family!
