Highlight of the Week

By Dwellephant.Membership Drive a-go-gone!

Thanks to the $125,000 of you who pledged your support to WMSE during the 2008 Spring Membership Drive! We finished things off at 2:53PM on Friday, May 9th, during Buzz's Garage. We now return to regularly scheduled programming for the next six months. Thank you!

Was (Not Was)

TONIGHT! WMSE welcomes Was (Not Was) to Milwaukee for and intimate lower-level show at the Pabst Theatre. Read all about it.

Local/Live

Every Tuesday at 8PM since February of 2005, WMSE has welcomed a different Milwaukee-area artist into the studios to perform a full set live on the airwaves. Tune in, and check out our video player to see past performances!

Next on Local/Live:
Tuesday, May 13 - Fly Neurotic
Fly Neurotic

Featuring former members of The Oprahs, Waking Bradley, and The Rest, Fly Neurotic is a three-piece rocking dance band from Milwaukee who has drawn comparisons to The Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, Sonic Youth, and Coldplay. "What's more, this band is plain listenable," says Dr Martin Jack Rosenblum. "There is no subjective philander nor any sentimental mush that is more interesting to the player than the listener. Fly Neurotic is... a rolling medicine stick poking through the dim fog music has become as it moves too high and away from the origins of what the real sound is all about." Tune in to Local/Live, then see them for yourself at Linneman's with The Buskers and Certain Stars this Friday; then at Cactus Club with Mahogany Throttle, NOBOT, and Estate on Saturday, the 17th.
Tuesday, May 20 - The Mighty Lumberhorn
