WMSE Digital Media Library Mini-Campaign

WMSE is excited to announce a crucial step in our ongoing evolution: the acquisition of a Digital Media Library. This project is vital to WMSE’s continued success and our future.

(Yes, we are still going to play vinyl, CDs, and anything else)

WMSE raised $75,000 for this project and will start the work soon!

What’s a Digital Media Library?
A library system that receives, stores, catalogs, and plays digital music files. A new tool for WMSE DJs.

Why a Digital Media Library?

  • Efficiency: WMSE’s current system requires significant manual effort. Sid, WMSE’s Music Director, burns CDs of digital-only releases so we can play them on-air. Streamlining music acquisitions will save time and 1000s of CDs.
  • Focus: By freeing up staff time, we can increase our focus on local artists, musical programming, interviews, and on-air performances.
  • Empowering WMSE DJs: With a digital library at their fingertips, our DJs can easily search and access the entire digital music collection without leaving the mixing desk, curating shows with greater flexibility and speed.
  • Better Community Partner Service: More reliably and efficiently schedule and air PSAs and underwriter spots.
  • Future-Proofing WMSE: This project strengthens WMSE’s long-term sustainability by modernizing our music library and ceasing to burn, label, and store unnecessary CDs. It’s a small step that keeps us adaptable and ready for advancements like HD broadcasting in a rapidly changing media landscape.

What’s in it for You (and the communities WMSE serves)?

  • Improved Music Access: Listeners hear more new music sooner.
  • Enhanced Listening Experience: Fewer interruptions and smoother transitions make listening more enjoyable.
  • More Local Music: Increased capacity for local music showcases, performances, and interviews.

Bottom Line
The Digital Media Library will eliminate manual tasks, enhance our offerings, and prepare us for the future. It’s an upgrade that makes WMSE better for everyone.
