Local Live from Anodyne with Collections of Colonies of Bees

WMSE is very excited to invite you back to Anodyne in Walker’s Point on Tuesday, April 8th, at 6pm sharp for another free, all-ages edition of Local Live, with Collections of Colonies of Bees, hosted by WMSE’s Music Director Sid and Milwaukee Record’s Matt Wild.
Collections of Colonies of Bees is an experimental rock band that combines intricate instrumentation with resonant vocals, creating music that balances technical precision with heartfelt expression. While initially focused on instrumental compositions, the band embraced vocals as a central element on their2018 album Hawaii, introducing melodic narratives to their signature interlocking rhythms and lush textures. Known for their dynamic live performances and adventurous creativity, they continue to evolve, blending innovative arrangements with rich complexity to push the boundaries of experimental rock. Never content to paint the soundscape twice, the previously instrumental Bees now come outfitted with vocalist Marielle Allschwang, that finds the Wisconsin-based ensemble harvesting the fertile intersection between experimental and pop to maximum effect.
If you can’t join in the fun in-person, tune into 91.7FM at 6 p. m. or stream using the WMSE website or free app. Local/Live is sponsored by Outpost Co-op. Thanks to Transfer Pizzeria Cafe for providing band hospitality, Kneeverland Productions, and Anodyne on Bruce for providing the outstanding venue.
