Join Music Director Sid and Milwaukee Record’s Matt Wild on Tuesday January 14 for another Local/Live session with Okay Omen.
Okay Omen is Milwaukee’s loudest soft band, featuring members of Garden Home, Ladybird and Bunk Bed. Okay Omen formed in 2022 and has since released two EPs: So it Goes… in 2023 and the recent Echoes of Loss in 2024. The band coasts along the line between emo and shoegaze, dancing between dynamically driven emotional bursts and dreamy soundscapes.
Okay Omen released its first single “(In)Sincere” in July of 2022 alongside a music video filmed and edited by Milwaukee photographer Samer Ghani. In February of 2023, the band released the seven-track EP So it Goes… (recorded and mixed at Ruthless & Toothless Studios), featuring a rerecorded “(In)Sincere” as well as the fan favorite “Reverie.” The band once again worked with Ghani on a music video for “Reverie” in which the band projects a video of themselves performing onto different buildings around Milwaukee.
In November of 2024, Okay Omen released Echoes of Loss (recorded and mixed by Cody Ratley and mastered by Justin Perkins). The band celebrated the release at Cactus Club alongside Snag (who were also celebrating the vinyl repressing of their self-titled album). Okay Omen self-funded vinyl copies of the EP, and plans to spend 2025 playing shows and promoting the release. Fans can expect new music in late 2025.
