Tom Crawford will host a phone interview with comedian Chris Titus.

Inspired by such greats as Woody Allen and Steve Martin, who wrote, directed, produced and performed, Titus has sold ideas to NBC, ABC, FOX and Comedy Central. In 2013, Titus formed his own production company, Combustion World Industries, and produced his own comedy special “Voice In My Head.” His first film production will be “Special Unit,” which is about four disabled detectives. Titus describes it as “The Shield with handicapped people” and is planning for film production in 2015. Fans can catch Titus weekly on his “never unbiased, always unbalanced” podcast “The Titus Podcast” and on The History Channel weekly as the host of the new game show “Pawnography” with the cast of “Pawn Stars”.

Christopher Titus is raw, real and most of all, funny. His honesty about his own life gives a voice to the human experience of every person that watches his specials.

WMSE is thrilled to support Chris Titus, “Angry Pursuit of Happiness” tour.  Coming off his fifth special “Voice In My Head,” where Titus detailed his biggest screw-ups, including his hilarious early days in entertainment aka his first job as Darth Vader for children’s birthday parties, Titus now brings to live audiences his newest one-man comedy special, “The Angry Pursuit of Happiness”. “The Angry Pursuit of Happiness” is being hailed by critics as his best performance to date. The show takes audiences on the wild ride of life, from Titus solution to the world’s problems, fixing everything in a way viewers won’t believe, to his insight on “Here’s how life goes” to his ‘me-logy,’ where Titus gives his own eulogy. Titus takes his special to new comedic places he hasn’t gone in prior specials. Titus says “We need comedy to get rid of our desire to kill”, so save a life and laugh your ass off with “The Angry Pursuit of Happiness” Tour. Tickets now available for Titus’ upcoming performance January 16th at 8pm at Vogel Hall in Milwaukee, WI at http://www.christophertitus.com/tour/

SHANTIH SHANTIH Record Release @ Cactus Club @ Cactus Club
May 25 @ 8:00 pm – 11:45 pm

2016-05-25 _ Shantih Shantih (1)WMSE presents Shantih Shantih’s album release on Dusty Medical Records at the Cactus Club. Shantih Shantih is a four-piece band founded in Atlanta, GA in 2013. Their sound is characterized by hypnotic, knitted vocals and lysergic guitar solos that play over fuzzed out melodies and mesmerizing beats. Shantih’s rock n’ roll blends southern gothic images with hoary Italian landscapes, creating vivid, yet melancholic narratives. The group consists of Italian native Anna Barattin (ex Vermillion Sands) on vocals and rhythm guitar, Julia Furgiuele on drums, and Anna Kramer on lead guitar, with the exception of a few songs led by Julia, where instruments are switched. FUTURE PUNXS (ex-Wax Museums), and the THE MIDWEST BEAT are also set to play.

Less Than Jake The Toasters, Devon Kay and The Solutions – Welcome to Rockview Tour @ The Rave
Aug 12 @ 7:30 pm – 11:45 pm

The story of ska-rockin’ maestros Less Than Jake isn’t told in their sizable discography. It can’t be calculated by the amount of road miles they’ve logged. (But if we’re forced to calculate, we think they might be a block or two short of the Van Allen belts.) Nah! Less Than Jake’s cumulative worth is all about what they bring to your party. From sweaty club shows to uproarious festival dates to opening up for America’s most beloved rock acts, these five lifers’ deeds are best measured in the smiles they’ve slapped on the faces of true believers and new listeners, alike. Silver Linings is the name of the new Less Than Jake album, their first fulllength for the Pure Noise label and the follow-up to 2013’s See The Light. It also doubles as a bunch of sonic diary pages and a mission statement that cements their conviction after two decades in this rock ‘n’ roll circus. Indeed, LTJ—frontman/guitarist Chris DeMakes, bassist/vocalist Roger Lima, trombonist Buddy Schaub, saxophonist Peter “JR” Wasilewski and new drummer Matt Yonker—have escaped most (but not all) forms of ennui, depression and violence against screen-based objects to create an endorsement of humanity. Silver Linings also does a good amount of myth-exploding in its pursuit of joy. The songwriting core of DeMakes, Lima and Wasilewski wrote all the lyrics. While Silver Linings doesn’t skimp on the joy, fun or grooves, careful listeners will sense a bit more reality seeping into LTJ’s escapism.
